1. #SaveRoe rallies were planned Tuesday in Tampa Bay, Sarasota and Lakeland following reports of a leaked U.S. Supreme Court majority draft opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito in favor of overturning Roe v. Wade. According to the Guttmacher Institute, if Roe v. Wade is overturned, Florida is likely to ban abortions. (Tampa Patch)

2. Hillsborough County deputies say a person with multiple warrants could be barricaded inside a Tampa home on Tuesday, prompting a SWAT team to respond and an evacuation of surrounding homes. The situation took place in the 20000 block of Still Wind Drive, inside a neighborhood near the Hillsborough River State Park. (Fox 13 Tampa)

3. Friday, May 6 is the deadline for St. Petersburg Arts Alliance Individual Artist Grant Program. Applicants can request up to $1,000 in project funding. This year, SPAA is also offering an additional $1,650 John Collins Arts Endowment Grant to one of the lucky applicants. (Creative Loafing Tampa)

4. The Up Up and Away Florida Hot Air Balloon and Music Festival is taking place from Friday, May 6th to Sunday, May 8th, 2022 in Lakeland, Florida. The Stamp Out Hunger® food drive returns this spring on Saturday, May 14, 2022, and for the fifth year in a row Metropolitan Ministries will work together with the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) as the official 2022 Florida benefiting nonprofit for Hillsborough County.
