This Island Will Pay Your Baggage Fees If You Visit In 2022

As airfares soar and rising inflation has nearly 70% of U.S. adults expecting to tweak their summer vacation plans to cut costs, Aruba is luring would-be vacationers with a new offer.

Aruba is offering to pay baggage fees for visitors who book a trip to the island in 2022.

The Lose Your Baggage promotion, which launched April 25, means Aruba will cover baggage fees for visitors, inviting them to embrace tropical bliss on the 70-square-mile island in the Caribbean Sea.

Through May 31, 2022, travelers can submit their upcoming itinerary, flight confirmation, or proof of a future trip to Aruba to receive a $60 Visa gift card to cover the cost of their checked bags. Travel must be completed by December 31, 2022.

Aruba is also offering the following on-island deals:

  • Pelican Adventures: 15% off activities including a champagne brunch cruise, sailing & snorkeling, jeep tours, and more with the code PELICAN15.
  • A 20% discount on one daytime snorkel trip with the code ArubaEffect20 at Red Sail Adventures.
  • Through De Palm Tours, a 10% discount on all activities, including off-roading adventures, sunset cruises, and jeep tours, with the code SAVE10.

Eagle Beach, the widest beach in Aruba, is one of the island’s most popular destinations.

The promotion debuted in tandem with The Aruba Effect—a new advertising campaign in key markets including New York, Chicago, Boston, Miami, and Houston— which includes partnerships with HBO, Hulu, Paramount, and Discovery+, as well as integration with travel, culinary, and adventure podcasts.
