Gandy Blvd. In Tampa Closed Due To Water Main Break

More traffic headaches for Tampa Bay drivers! Part of Gandy Boulevard in Tampa will be closed because of a water main break.

The road closure is expected to run through Tuesday, April 19.

Here’s what to need to know if this affects your commute. The Tampa Water Department says effective immediately all travel lanes on West Gandy Boulevard between South Dale Mabry Highway and South Sherwood Avenue are closed. This will allow workers to repair the water main break.

If that’s not bad enough, all travel lanes on South Himes Avenue are closed between West Hawthorne Road and West Marlin Avenue Street because of the same water main issue.

Officials estimate that repairs on the water main will allow the affected parts of Gandy Blvd. and the surrounding streets to reopen by 5PM on Tuesday April 19th. Plan your commute accordingly.
