1. Boulon Brasserie, a French Bistro by Next Level Brands, is planning to open its doors in the second week of August 2022 at Water Street Tampa, a bustling new neighborhood in downtown Tampa. Boulon will include a restaurant, café and full bar, with a menu highlighted by fresh-caught seafood and modern interpretations of classic French pastries. (That’s So Tampa)
2. Transit agency HART has lost 50 administrative level employees, including several high ranking employees, from January 2021 to March 21st of this year, according to records obtained by Creative Loafing Tampa Bay. Employees have alleged that their departure was due to a toxic workplace including name calling and verbal abuse. (Creative Loafing Tampa)
3. Hillsborough County wants input on how to improve Veterans Memorial Park from veterans and residents. A workshop and open house will be held on March 31st. The workshop will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon, with the open house from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Participants are asked to register in advance. (Tampa Patch)
4. A domestic disturbance in Citrus County turned deadly Friday night when deputies shot and killed a man who allegedly pointed a weapon in their direction. Citrus County Sheriff Mike Prendergast says the deputies were “forced to shoot and kill the man.” The shooting is under investigation and the three deputies involved will be placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome. 5. Every Wednesday at the Bay Cannon Beer Company in Tampa, organizers bring in a headliner followed by an open mic night of several local comedians. In exchange, the audience is encouraged to bring canned food or clothing donations for Homeless Helping Homeless. The organization provides emergency, temporary and permanent housing solutions for the Tampa Bay area’s in-need population. (Tampa Bay Times)
