Hotel In San Jose Is Rebranding To Signia By Hilton

The former Fairmont hotel in downtown San Jose is undergoing renovations and will be rebranded as the first Signia by Hilton in California.

The 805-room Signia by Hilton San Jose will be the second hotel under the meetings-oriented brand and is slated to open on April 25. The first Signia by Hilton opened in Orlando in 2021 (a conversion of the former Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek) and another is scheduled to open in Atlanta in 2024.

The San Jose hotel closed in March 2021 and owner Eagle Canyon Capital filed for bankruptcy, reaching an agreement with Fairmont parent company Accor to end the branding and operations contract.

The hotel has 65,000 square feet of meeting space, an outdoor rooftop pool, gym, multiple restaurants, and a lobby bar and lounge.

The property is undergoing an extensive renovation, including revamps of the lobby, fitness center and pool area, and the introduction of a new grab-and-go dining option.

Additionally, the guestroom bathrooms in the property’s North Tower are being redone and will feature marble vanities and showers with residential-style fixtures as well as a separate makeup vanity.

All of the guestrooms in both towers will undergo a full renovation that is expected to be completed by early 2023.
